August Horch Museum Zwickau

August Horch Museum entrance

As part of my trip to attend the 50th anniversary ITT rally in Zwickau, I visited the fantastic August Horch Museum, based in part of the former Trabant factory.

The museum charts German automotive history from the first designs of Horch, through to the foundation of Auto Union (now Audi), and the developiment of the post-war East German (DDR) automotive industry, up to and including some 1980s prototype new Trabant designs that never made it into production.

Zwickau is still the site of a new VW plant outside the town. If you ever have a reason to be in the area, I highly recommend a visit! Click on the museum logo at the bottom of this page to visit their website.
