Les Ooh La Las Can-Can Troupe
Histoire

Born in the dance halls of Paris the Can-Can was the grand finale at the Moulin Rouge. The Chahuteuses (the unruly girls) sent crowds wild. They were cheeky and boisterous, dancing with attitude to get attention. With the use of the distinctive kicks and flowing skirts the women titillated the revellers. Contrary to the contemporary image of the Can-Can troupe as a chorus line of clones, each dancer had a distinctive style and personality. Capturing the imagination of artists and gentlemen alike they were immortalised by artists such as Toulouse-Lautrec and were the stars of their time.

With the success of the film "Moulin Rouge", interest in the dance has been renewed. It is not simply the gentlemen who hold a fascination for the dance, women are also inspired by the empowering quality of the performance. The beauty of the Can-Can is its general appeal. Everyone knows the music, everyone knows the moves and everybody loves it. Its cheeky, comical and saucy all at once, its girl power in Victorian boots!

If you want to add some oomph to an occasion....ooh la la. Les Ooh La Las perform at various events, including Corporate Functions, private parties and club nights.
